Within this very body, the Buddha declared, we have everything we need to discover the origin and cessation of suffering. Yet we tend to ignore our bodies or pay distorted, unwise attention to them. During this silent weekend, suitable for both beginners and experienced meditators, we will train in embodied awareness: the direct experience of our physical life. We will also practice living with clearer understanding and a kinder attitude toward our bodies' organic, changing nature.
In addition to traditional sitting and walking periods, Leslie Booker will offer mindful movement to support this embodied knowing. These sessions, appropriate for all body types, will include elements of yoga and qigong. They will be taught with kindness and sensitivity to the wide range of life experiences participants bring to this retreat.
