Anthony “T” Maes is a mixed race Chicano man from the Bay Area who has dedicated himself to the path of Dharma and secular trauma-informed mindfulness since 2003. He practices Right Livelihood by teaching teens and adults at Spirit Rock, East Bay Meditation Center, Inward Bound Mindfulness Education, Mindful Schools, Dharma Homies, and Year Up. He regularly assists with the IMS Teen Retreat. His 200+ nights of silent retreat practice inform his approach to leading mindful movement on retreats. “T” integrates Dharma, yoga, and Qi Gong into a trauma-informed easeful movement practice that supports the specific needs of the retreat setting, while centering practices that will be accessible to as many bodies as possible, emphasizing agency and inner listening.
