February 18 - February 26, 2012 (Saturday to Sunday)

This silent retreat, suitable for both beginning and experienced meditators, focuses on the embodiment of wisdom and compassion. Through the cultivation of tranquility (the unification of heart, mind and body), we establish a stable foundation for exploring the patterns of self. As 'who we think we are' is gently released, the heart recognizes the spaciousness and peace of its original nature. Intuitive understanding and authentic response arise naturally when the non-dual reality of life is recognized.

Pali chanting and mantra recitation will be included in the daily schedule. Optional periods of qigong will be offered, along with a bowing practice centered on the Bodhisattva Kuan Yin. The teachers will be assisted by Jill Shepherd.

24 CEs are available for Psychologists and Licensed Mental Health Counselors. An additional fee of $50 will be payable at the end of your retreat when you receive your certificate.

IMS offers CEs for psychologists through the Institute for Meditation and Psychotherapy (IMP), who is approved by the American Psychological Association (APA) to sponsor continuing education for psychologists. IMP maintains responsibility for the program and its content.

IMS offers CEs for Licensed Mental Health Counselors also through IMP, who is recognized by the National Board for Certified Counselors (NBCC) to sponsor continuing education for National Certified Counselors. IMP (Provider #6048) adheres to NBCC Continuing Education Guidelines. Credits are applicable for Commonwealth of Massachusetts Counseling/Allied Mental Health and PDP accreditation.

We are not offering CEs through NASW or any other professional organization. However, in some cases CEs offered by APA or NBCC are accepted by other professions. You will need to inquire with your accrediting body as to whether this is the case.
